Personal Style Profile

Today I was channeling a cross between Courtney Love circa 1992 and 1970's flower child. I bought this Nicole Elizabeth baby doll dress at Salvation Army back in California, and it is straight outta the 90's. The ankle booties are from Wet Seal (shocking, I know!) and I was drawn to them because the awkward heel shape is reminiscent of the Givenchy rubber cowboy boots that I was (still am) obsessed with. I guess these babies are as close at I will get, since I don't have $1200 to shell out for the real deal. My boho look was topped off with granny chic sunglasses, and just rolled out of bed hair; which I count as a fashion statement and not a lack of personal hygiene/laziness!

Laura and Jess really stood out in a sea of people, and it wasn't necessarily their super fashionable clothes, but their attitude and swagger that caught my eye. These girls have that innate fashion sense reminiscent of Kate Moss or Agyness Deyn. Whatever they put on, they will look fabulous. That kind of look that oozes cool, but probably only took them 2 seconds to throw together. It's more about the attitude than the fashion, but attitude is what makes all the difference, isn't it?

I spotted Olivia downtown at Rosa Parks Circle and her effortless, bohemian style immediately caught my eye. Her look was nonchalantly styled, but the bold belt and gold knotted necklace really polished off the look.

Personal Style Profile

I finally made it to Grand Rapids! I was really blown away when I got here, what an amazing place! Frankie and I went out for drinks on Tuesday night at the JW Marriott and had a blast! Friday night we went back out to Cygnus 27 and then to 25 Kitchen and Bar. I consumed way too many drinks, but met tons of fabulous people! So far GR is treating us pretty well. 

Tuesday night I was feeling kind of cooped up in the apartment so I decided to go for a leisurely stroll. As I was walking towards Rosa Parks Circle...I faintly heard Lady Gaga's voice in the distance. Then, I turned the corner. WHAT. IS. THIS.

Dancing?! In the middle of the city?! Whoever organized this event is a genius. I had SO much fun watching you guys and girls shake your asses. While I was at it I stalked some stylish ladies...so be on the lookout for some GR Street Style coming soon! Here is what I wore dancing in the park:

I have been really inspired by retro 1940's style as of late, so I busted out the Vintage Fruit dress and my cat eye sunnies. Flip flops weren't the most stylish choice of footwear, but I am still hanging on to my California roots.
